The Golf Academy is based at Humewood Golf Club (host of the 2010 South African Open) and the Eastern Cape Academy of Sport. It is led by internationally recognised pro-coaches who have worked around the world in destinations as far as South Africa, Zimbabwe and the US, as well as coaching South African PGA Tour pros, such as Hugh Baiocchi and David Frost. These coaches provide first-class training and extensive knowledge for all golfers.
Quality of instruction is paramount to the aims of the Academy, and it is through our professional coaching team that a premier level of tuition is guaranteed.
Led by an international PGA coach, the Academy programme offers golfers a very high standard of coaching. Following an initial evaluation of your ability, a programme is created to address your weaknesses, perfect your strengths and, with sessions of intense coaching, offer the opportunity to lower your overall handicap. Each customized programme covers the fundamental areas of the game, including:
- Individual technique
- Match play
- Attitude, discipline and self-confidence
- Sports psychology and visualisation
- Diet
- Lectures on stretching, injury prevention, core stability and periodisation
- Short game - Chipping/ Bunker Shots/ Putting
- Long game - Long Irons & Drivers
- Fitness and personal gym training
Coupled with this, is the chance to experience some truly authentic African Adventure including Big-5 safaris, scuba diving, marine tours, leaping from the world's highest bungee and much more besides. All this makes for a deeply challenging and life changing sports travel adventure.
