GVI has teamed up with one of Mexico’s most well respected PADI Course Director’s to Combine world class dive training with GVI’s special marine conservation training program, and graduate from this course with useful skills for a career in the dive industry, or just for the fun of diving and experiencing the underwater world. GVI has teamed up with one of Mexico’s most well respected PADI Course Director’s to offer this PADI course in the form of an educational adventure leading to globally respected qualifications and employment opportunities worldwide.

We currently offer a number of PADI Dive courses including:
1. PADI Open Water Diver to PADI Divemaster in 6/8 weeks (dependent upon the work placement option)
2. PADI Advanced (or equivalent) to PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor in 12 weeks.
3. For those already at Divemaster or higher levels shorter PADI Instructor Development courses are also available.
4. Customized shorter courses from Open Water or Advanced, through to Advanced, Rescue and Master Scuba Diver with a number of optional specialties.
5. Cavern, Intro to Cave and Full Cave Diving Courses
The tropical reefs that fringe Cancun are some of the most renowned in the world for scuba diving, and a magnificent location to undergo your professional dive training. GVI offers so much more than just dive courses. Participants receive lectures on coral reef ecology; threats to the marine environment; extensive training in first aid, compressor use and equipment maintenance; and much more. The GVI Dive Academy offers full 24 hour in-country support from experienced fluent Spanish-speaking staff.
For those interested in programs finishing at Divemaster level no particular diving qualification prerequisites are required. Applicants for instructor level programs need to have held at least the level of PADI Open Water Diver or an equivalent entry level diver certification from another agency for a minimum of 3 months before the program start date.
