|
Learn to speak Spanish, help a South American community, go on an adventure in the Orinoco Delta by kayak, learn how to survive in the Venezuelan jungle with Warao Indians, trek to the summit of Mount Roraima, explore historic cities, go on a jeep adventure into mystical highlands, relax on stunning beaches, kayak, climb, abseil and much more!
This Yomps adventure incorporates exploration, excitement and learning, in a way where we will gain an amazing knowledge of the Spanish language whilst going on adventure expeditions in this diverse country. Based in Venezuela, this three month expedition will take us to beautiful beaches, lush exotic jungles, mysterious mountains, Caribbean islands and cultual cities, to explore, absorb cultures and learn Spanish.
Our main bases will be one of Venezuela’s beautiful beaches, Playa Colorada and Merida. From these stunning locations we will go on amazing adventure travel expeditions, which will includes a jeep safari to La Gran Sabana and trekking to the top of the world’s highest tabletop mountain, Mount Roraima. We will swim in clear Caribbean waters, kayak through the junbgle of the Orinoco Delta to visit remote areas and meet indigenous tribes, and experience the unique culture of the Warao and Pemon Indians.
During our expedition approximately 150 hours of Spanish lessons will be taught, with learning designed to be interactive and spontaneous. Rather than being in a classroom our Spanish lessons will be taken in the open air of South America to make speaking Spanish seem entirely natural, which is the best way to progress our written and oral communication skills.
Our Spanish skills will progress so much that during our final month we will be able to communicate with the local residents as we work on community projects in the area. We will be aiding an under privileged but beautiful and vibrant country, which will not only provide us with a fantastic knowledge of the Spanish language, but also a fountain of amazing memories to take home.
