You will take Spanish lessons and stay with a local family to immerse yourself in the local culture and way of life. Volunteer work is available at indigenous communities in nearby rural mountain areas. GVI, along with leaders of the indigenous communities, are developing educational programmes to assist children who otherwise would not have the opportunity to go to school and adults who were never given the chance to get a formal education.  40 hours of intensive Spanish classes are included in the programme, as well as numerous excursions and activities such as hikes, bike rides, waterfall and river trips.
