|
Madagascar provides a unique environment for expeditions, with over 80% endemic animal species, and the south-west contains some of the least explored areas in the world. You will be trained to plan and execute an overseas expedition in a remote tropical environment in Madagascar.
You will learn how to design all elements of an expedition, developing skills in planning routes and itineraries, procuring equipment, carrying out risk assessments, managing health and safety issues, navigating with GPS systems and communicating using VHF radio.
You will gain skills in leadership and decision-making whilst undertaking rapid biodiversity assessment in remote inaccessible regions. Your hard work will contribute to identifying sites for future conservation initiatives.
