Benefits and advantages of the program: |

Unmatched Flexibility
CCS programmes are designed so that as a volunteer you can decide when, where and for how long you want to take part in a programme. CCS also wants to know about your skills and interests, which will help us to find the volunteer placement that fits you best.
Our programmes are open to citizens of all countries, and to individuals, couples, groups and families.
Our Approach to Volunteering
Cross-Cultural Solutions believes that the most successful approach to international volunteering is one that defers to the needs and goals of the local community. We recognise that people living and working in these areas know what is valuable and appropriate for their community, and we’re committed to helping carry out their local objectives.
Individual Attention
For Cross-Cultural Solutions, individual attention means helping each volunteer integrate into his or her local setting and work placement while providing the flexibility necessary to meet individual needs.
Prior to departure, Cross-Cultural Solutions conducts a survey of each volunteer’s skills and interests, along with numerous phone conversations with each prospective volunteer to discuss your best Volunteer Placement. Our Programme Managers are all Cross-Cultural Solutions alumni and will be able to respond to specific questions and help you focus your goals.
Our Home-Base Structure
After a day of volunteering or a weekend of travel, it is important to know that you have a comfortable place to return to. The Home-Base is designed to help you enjoy all the country has to offer without the frustrations or time spent in day-to-day logistics. This unique structure also means that we are not burdening the local community with the need to support or care for volunteers.
Staff: Volunteers have constant access to our local staff. Our staff is from the community and can therefore answer questions, share perspectives, provide security and offer advice.
Lodging: Cross-Cultural Solutions’ typical housing consists of a comfortable house in a local, middle class neighbourhood. Clean, modest accommodations with shared occupancy rooms are the standard. Lodging arrangements always have basic amenities such as linens and running water.
Meals: As part of the Cross-Cultural Solutions programme, local cooks prepare and serve daily meals and snacks based on the regional cuisine.
Transportation: From the moment you arrive in the country until the time of your return flight, Cross-Cultural Solutions’ licenced drivers will be there to provide you with safe transportation.

Typical person for this program: |

CCS is delighted to welcome volunteers of many different ages and walks of life to its programmes each year. We have families and groups from Australia volunteering alongside teens from Canada and working and retired adults from the UK. We have graduate students from Japan and college students from the US. We have 'gappers,' people who are taking a break before university, or within their professional lives. They come to Cross-Cultural Solutions from very different parts of the world, and from very different places in their life.
We also welcome volunteers with special needs or disabilities.
