Program description: |
|
|
This project works with the Department of Fisheries, Sabah. Greenforce will train you to dive and to carry out marine surveys in this fascinating reef environment. The data produced is supporting the creation of a Marine Protected Area in Northern Borneo. The project is also closely involved with community education in the importance of the reefs for subsistence fishermen and looking for sustainable alternatives to over-fishing. Participants will also be teaching English at local schools and in communities.
