The increase in orphans and lack of government funding for handicapped individuals means many children in developing countries are deprived of the care that they are entitled to. However, our community care projects allow you to work in a number of specialist schools and community centres, alongside dedicated locals, to help address so many 'forgotten' needs.
In any developing country, dedicated individuals are needed to help run schools and community centres for children with disabilities. Ghana is no exception. Furthermore, a lack of government funding is preventing the provision of necessary care reaching a number of key areas. Volunteers can therefore make a real difference by joining the staff at a range of specialist schools in and around the capital city, Accra , helping to offer the care and support that so many are deprived of.
You will also enjoy getting involved with our Volunteer sports teams where you may even have the opportunity to play against local teams in Ghana!
