Program description: |
The increase in orphans and lack of government funding for handicapped individuals means many children in developing countries are deprived of the care that they are entitled to. However, our community care projects allow you to work in a number of specialist schools and community centres, alongside dedicated locals, to help address so many 'forgotten' needs.
Due to a lack of government funding, the burden of maintaining care programmes tends to fall on willing volunteers. Therefore, many local care workers and volunteers are overstretched and overworked. However, by joining a project in South Africa, you can make a significant difference to the level of care offered to many young South Africans in orphanages, centres for children with HIV and child drop in centres.
You will also enjoy getting involved with our Volunteer sports teams where you may even have the opportunity to play against local teams in South Africa!
