With over 20 places and 80 internship and volunteer placements, ELEP administer and offers a wide variety of internship opportunities in many fields for connecting to language study and work experience in private, public and non-governmental sectors throughout Ecuador - Latin America. Each program is unique and is tailored to the interests and goals of interns and volunteers. ELEP - Experiential Learning Ecuadorian Programs is a social, cultural and educational institution that designs and delivers customized volunteer and internship programs for individuals and groups from all over the world. Our programs provide exciting opportunities for language and cross-cultural immersion and valuable practical experience throughout Ecuador. INTERNSHIP PROGRAMS: The best way of acquiring working experience in the field you would like to work in is through a well organized internship program. Our internship programs give college and university students, recent graduates and young professionals the opportunity to gain valuable practical and theoretical experience through participation and training in well respected firms, companies NGOs and communities. Our programs have a proven record of providing mutually rewarding experience for both, our participants and their host. Placements are available in a wide variety of professional fields such as: audit/finance, accounting/human resources, business/foreign trade, marketing/PR, IT/graphic design, engineering/architecture, medicine/environment, journalism/communication law/social work and other related fields. Interns can choose the type of work they would like to do, when they would like to start, and how long they would like the internship to last. VOLUNTEER PROGRAMS: ELEP places volunteers in community projects throughout the Ecuador, giving them the opportunity to participate in a variety of environmental and community aid programs. Our programs allow you to work with dynamic grass-roots communities and organizations while immersing yourself in the local culture. Volunteers will work directly with a local communities or development agencies on a focused project. Projects include working in Social or Community Projects (Child Care, HIV/AIDS, Human Rights, Education and Teaching English, Healthcare/Nursing, Micro-enterprise, Infrastructure and Construction Work, etc) and Environmental projects (General Conservation, Agriculture, Organic Farming and Agroforestry, Animal Care and Veterinary Medicine, etc). No special skills are required to participate in our volunteer project, only a willingness to experience new cultures and an adventurous spirit. Our volunteer programs last two weeks to six months and internship programs last four weeks (depending on the field) to 6 months and are designed for any aged group. All our placements and host partners are carefully selected. Our priority is to find the most suitable placement that matches the candidates personal profile and goals and objectives. Whether you have never spoken a word of Spanish in your life, or would like to brush up on your existing skills, then well, this is the opportunity you were expecting. It is recognizing that Spanish in particular, is one of the most valuable and useful second language. Spanish Study ELEP provides high quality Spanish language courses for students of all ages, levels and nationalities. The best way to develop fluency in conversation, writing and reading skills in Spanish is by learning the language where it is spoken and Ecuador offers you that opportunity. Our internship, volunteer and Spanish course programs are available all the year round throughout Ecuador and are open to citizens from all over the world. Orientation: Upon arrival in Ecuador, participants will receive an orientation that will familiarize them with the Ecuadorian culture and bureaucratic items, the city and the surrounding area where they will be living and the volunteer and internship aspects. Airport reception: Upon their arrival in Ecuador, the participants will be met by a representative of ELEP at the airport who will introduce and lodge them to their host families, teacher (when they are taking our Spanish lessons) and our internship or volunteer placement. Placement: The host place where the participants will be volunteering or interning. Full In-country support: During their stay in the programs, participants will receive total support from our staff Languages required besides English: Spanish Qualifications required: The most important requirements are: - An open mind - Eagerness to learn, share, experience and explore Ecuadorian culture - An intermediate level of the Spanish language, otherwise we would strongly recommend that you consider learning some Spanish before your program begins. and/or take language courses in Ecuador with our Study Spanish Program.
