Program description:

Inca Projects is a great choice if you are interested in archaeology and the history of the Inca civilization - and if you don't mind getting your hands dirty and getting fit walking in the hillsides and mountains in the Andes. Projects Abroad works with the Instituto Nacional de Cultura on sites in and around Zurite. This small traditional Andean town is on the Alto Plano an hour from Cusco.

Volunteers are currently helping to clear several terraces, including the spectacular Condor Terrace which overlooks the town. From the valley this terrace really looks like the giant bird and is a classic Inca design! Volunteers also work on other projects like the excavation at Tambo Cancha, the original site of the village of Zurite, the restoration of San Nicolas de Bari Church and various community projects.  Our archeology projects are soon to expand, from March onwards we are going to be woriking on a number of projects across the Sacred Valley and in the Inca capital, Cusco.
