Candidates will then participate in 4 hour a day internships in small to mid-sized, Spanish-owned companies or organisations.  Part of the application process is a phone interview to ensure that candidates are placed in the Sector that best corresponds to them.  We can usually guarantee placement.  The program is not competitive and we place year round, starting the first Monday of each month. An International Business internship may involve to creating and executing new business strategies, cultural programs, educational or advocacy programs, new products or services; and to assist in bettering the existing processes.  Spain maintains business relations with different European, American, African and Asian countries, which provides an appropriate backdrop to do a variety of things during an internship in this field.  Also, the NGO’s (non-governmental organizations) with their ongoing projects in third world countries offer a good opportunity to get to know and evaluate distinct economic and social situations. Participation in this program will massively upgrade your Resume and provide the ability to become fluent in Spanish.  All candidates have a Spanish Supervisor at their work assignments, plus an English-speaking Intern Advisor living in Barcelona.  This is a fairly customized program and process, with anywhere from 3 to 10 candidates starting programs each month.  Housing is your own room in a shared apartment. You will gain real, international work experience to add to your resume, and you can become bi-lingual if you apply yourself.  Instead of just visiting, as a tourist, you will be living and working in Spain-- there is really no other way to truly learn the language and the culture... Live like a Spaniard in a shared apartment with other Adelante candidates or elect to share with local Spanish people ** Internships are for 4 hours each day in small to mid-sized, Spanish-owned companies or corporations. You will gain real, international work experience to add to your resume. ** The participating companies we work with represent a growing variety of Sectors from Marketing to Social Work to Teaching English to Law, and more. We are also happy to create a new Sector on your behalf. Cost or price of this program: From $2,495 to $6,615 for 1-6 months, plus $150 application fee. Languages required besides English: Spanish Qualifications required: Program candidates should be 18 or older and possess a desire to learn about and live in another culture.  Some Spanish is helpful although we can and do place beginner - beginners.  Candidates should be at college level or graduate level, though we have some "gap-year" candidates. Qualities required are: dependability for your work assignment, courage for your international living abroad experience and openness to all the new people and experiences you will encounter.
