|
Our Medicine placement in Sri Lanka is suited to volunteers both with and without experience. This placement aims to give you an all round experience of Western medicine in an environment with very different challenges to that of the UK. You will be placed with a doctor, who will be your supervisor throughout your placement. You’ll initially learn about the medical system in Sri Lanka before spending time in various departments at the hospital in Panadura. You’ll also visit various specialised clinics, including paediatrics and obstetrics, and you’ll even learn something about ayurvedic medicine and it’s place in both Asian, and increasingly Western medicine and culture.
You’ll stay with a local family down the road, and have the assistance of our own Sri Lanka office and staff nearby.
