Program description: |
 |
|
For over 25 years, Syracuse University has been offering students the opportunity to explore the many faces of Spain. The program is based in Madrid, a modern and fast-paced European capital. It is designed to help you come to know much of Spain as a culture and civilization rich in contrasts.
The program begins with three distinct pre-session seminars: AZAHAR, taking students to Seville and Granada to explore the historical and cultural forces that shaped Spain; EUROVISION, a multination seminar focused on management, economics, and international relations; and MARE NOSTRUM, a Mediterranean-focused seminar taught in Spanish.
Back in Madrid, you settle in with a local host who introduces you to the language and customs of Spain. The academic palette covers a wide range of fields taught in both Spanish and English. Internships at prestigious national and European institutions augment the classroom experience.
Weekends involve field study to majestic mountains, Roman ruins, quaint medieval villages and prehistoric caves.
