|
Au Pair jobs are available for young, single people aged 18-27 years old. Applicants must love children and enjoy working within a famly environment. Some knowledge of English is useful but is not essential. Applications are eligible with a passport from any of the following European countries: Andora, Austria, Belgium, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Faroe Islands,Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Greenland, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Macedonia, Malta, Monaco, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, San Marino, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and Turkey.
No formal qualifications are necessary but applicants should have a genuine love of children. Applicants should have good social skills and be able to work in a family environment. A driving license is preferred but not essential. Some knowledge of English would be useful but is not essential since time off will be given each week to take a language course.
The au pairs main duties will be closely related to the care of the child or children, although some light housework may be expected. Au pairs are normally expected to work 25 hours per week although some babysitting may be required in the evening.
Depending upon the child's age, a typical day may commence with waking, washing and dressing the child. The au pair may be expected to prepare simple meals and depending upon the child's age may be expected to take the child to school and collect it later in the day, take it for a walk or organise it's playtime. The au pair may be asked to wash & iron the child's clothes and tidy it's room. The au pair should be able to stimulate the child through various activities e.g. craftwork, playtime, outings etc.

The minimum salary is £55 per week plus accommodation and meals although salaries may be higher for applicants with previous experience.
Many families may also allow private use of the family car and access to the internet although this is at the discretion of the family.

There is no cost to the applicant since all fees are paid for by the family. However, the applicant may be expected to pay for their return Air Fare to the UK.
