If living and working in a sunny Central American republic with the Caribbean Sea lapping at its shores appeals to you, go for Spanish speaking Honduras. There is the unique opportunity to volunteer at a bird park on the edge of the mountain town of Copan close to the Guatamala border.
These placements suit those people who wish to work in the sector in the future or have some real experiences of working with exotic animals.
Sadly it is not about cuddling animals all day – work begins before the visitors arrive in the morning with cleaning chores, feeding and watering and general zoo maintenance. Once the visitor’s start arriving then you can find yourself selling entry tickets, providing guided tours or organising lunch for lots of excited children.
