|
Au Pair jobs are available in Swizerland for young people aged 18/27 years old with an American, Australian, Canadian, Kiwi or West European Passport. No formal qualifications are necessary but applicants should have a genuine love of children. Applicants should have good social skills and be able to work in a family environment. A driving license is preferred but not essential. Knowledge of French, German or Italian would be an advantage but is not essential since time off will be given each week to take a language course.
The au pairs main duties will be closely related to the care of the child or children, although some light housework may be expected. Au pairs are normally expected to work 30 hours per week although some babysitting may be required in the evening.
Depending upon the child's age, a typical day may commence with waking, washing and dressing the child. The au pair may be expected to prepare simple meals and depending upon the child's age may be expected to take the child to school and collect it later in the day, take it for a walk or organise it's playtime. The au pair may be asked to wash & iron the child's clothes and tidy it's room. The au pair should be able to stimulate the child through various activities e.g. craftwork, playtime, outings etc.
The Au Pair will be expected to work 30 Hours per week plus one or two evening’s babysitting. Salary is a minimum of CHF750 per month plus meals and accomodation.

Working as an Au Pair in Switzerland is an ideal way to learn another language (French, Italian or German). Switzerland borders France, Germany and Italy so there are also opportunities not only to travel in Switzerland but also to travel to these countries.

There is no charge to the applicant but the applicant may be expected to pay for their own airfare although from Europe this is relatively inexpensive since there are low cosr airlines flying to Geneva.
