The evenings see a hive of activity of partying people, Latino music and meandering cars that form around the nearby side streets and main frontage of the Malecón that arcs around the bay. Bathed in constant fresh winds the Malecón is always a pleasant area to walk in the evening and most refreshing in the night breezes. Manta is a picturesque and important port on the Pacific Ocean, located in a dry tropical forest with an average annual temperature of 25 degrees Celsius (77° F). Because it has some of South America's most breathtaking beaches, and great waves  Manta was selected as the site both the 2004 World surfing Games, and  the sixth South American Windsurfing Championship. It is also reknowned for its diving and sport fishing. In addition, Manta hosts an International Theater Festival in September. Sporting events take place in November, and also from January through April. In the city one also finds a selection of first rate night clubs, amusement parks, and casinos. Manta has a rich history: it was originally settled by the pre-Hispanic Manteña culture. Today it is a primary city in the province of Manabì. Nearby in the province is the famous Isla de la Plata, which has flora and fauna similar to that found in the Galápagos Islands. On Isla de la Plata one finds such unique species as blue-footed boobies and frigate birds. One can also see whales there from June through September. Manabì is also famous for its delicious cuisine, much of which is the best in the country. For those who enjoy seafood Manta is second to none. Ecuador Surfing! Ecuador is a fantastic country and worth a visit whether surfing or not, but if you are looking at this site then it is the surfing that you'll be interested in! Ecuador is ON the equator – so it’s the warmest place on earth! You defiantly DON’T need a wetsuit here! A great place to lean – and for the hardcore surfer can spend all day in the waves! The Ecuadorian coast has over 30 surf spots. During the months be  tween December and May, the Ecuadorian coast gets hit by N-NW-W and S swells. Some of those swells are produced in remote places like the Arctic sea. Beachbreaks, reefbreaks, pointbreaks, you name it, you will find it!, from 3 feet up to 10 feet, some of them with more power than the others. The remarkable point about this time of the year is that the wind blows off shore in the mornings, at lunch time this wind stops and gets a little bit on shore and in late afternoon it glasses off We are located at Manta and Manta is truly a world class surfing destination It is the Mecca for surfing in South America!  Its that good that it was the host for the WORLD SURFING GAMES in 2004!! El Rompecoco is a great beachbreak is located in the heart of a city port Manta. It is perfect to both sides, very intense and has tubes big enough to put your VW inside of them! Playa El Murcielago is situated outside Manta and is a right hand beach break that is hollow (i.e. a pipeline) fast and powerful. This is an excellent surf spot for intermediate to advanced surfers! This spot breaks all year long, sometimes there are no waves but you can still have fun on small days because it's a very powerful wave. This program offers TWO weeks of intensive individual Spanish instruction (4 hours per day) accompanied by a basic surfing course with an accredited instructor (2 hours per day).
