Experienced Host Family Welcomes you to our cozy new home on Lake of the Woods in NW Ontario! We are located on 7.5 acres adjacent to the Sioux Narrows Provincial Park, on one of Canada's Largest Inland Lakes. Our area abounds with nature and wildlife. We offer a unique cozy and comfortable Canadian Home Stay with the Horse Lover in mind. At your home stay, you will enjoy First Nations Aboriginal School learning with programs in English and Native Canadian Culture. You will have a horse to share during your stay with us, and Western Reining Lessons at Brown Ranch. Many side trips and the semester program includes attending school at the nearby Native Reservation, learning not only English, but Native Culture. Try out for the traveling sports teams. Activities abound when you stay with us! Opportunities are available for canoeing, paddle boating, kayaking, swimming, tubing behind a boat, fishing for dinner, or exploring ancient rock paintings just a few kilometres away and much much more. Our horseback riding is strictly Western Style. If you're not familiar with Western Style riding, don't worry. We are fortunate enough to be only 75km from The Brown Ranch. Built into your homestay experience are weekly trips to Kenora for Western Riding Lessons under the direction of Dean Brown. Dean has previous experience and training in Italy and his ranch breeds world famous Quarter Horses. Limited to 4 students, we look forward to having you join us for a life time adventure you will never forget.
