Based on Santa Cruz, you’ll teach in a school with a wide curriculum and an aim to give young people the skills necessary to continue the economic development of the Islands. The continued rise of tourism here means that with few other career prospects, English language skills will be critical for the new generation of islanders. This is a great opportunity to contribute to the economic growth of the Islands whilst helping to safeguard the existence of one of the planet’s most diverse eco-systems. Volunteer teach at a public school whose aims are to form students integrally in Conservation, Identity, Work, Science, Discipline and Sports. This school is associated with UNESCO with the aim of educating their students in order to preserve the Galapagos Islands, Natural Heritage of Humanity. The students are also educated so that they can be an integral part of the activities of the island.  The school holds approximately 700 students. You will help teach the local children by preparing and conducting English classes and activities to promote learning and development.
