Program description: |

|
Provide friendship and guidance to those in foster homes and orphanages in the pretty and vibrant city of Cochabamba, Bolivia. We work with the Social Services in Cochabamba to place volunteers in the children’s homes and orphanages that need your help the most. Work ranges from helping children to get up in the mornings, have breakfast and tidy their dorms through to teaching them the importance of keeping clean (personal hygiene) and all those things that a parent of guardian would normally teach.
Many of these children receive no education during their time in the centres, so if you have a good grasp of Spanish it can be valuable to help with some basic literacy and numeracy. Even if you have no Spanish at all you can certainly help with more vocational skills – and activities such as music, art, sport and drama are always popular, fun and add an educational and focussed element to the children’s day.
