|
If you can provide the dedication, patience and support needed to improve the lives of disadvantaged children in Sri Lanka, we have a wide variety of Care projects to offer you. Based in towns along the southwest coast and around the town of Kandy, there are placements working in orphanages, kindergartens or care homes for disabled children. Conditions are often basic and the staff heavily overworked, so the support of volunteers is always greatly appreciated. Whether playing with the children, organising stimulating educational activities, or caring for their everyday needs, you will be constantly contributing to their happiness and well-being. Afternoons may also be spent in community centres with children affected by the tsunami. Happily the children have all now been re-housed but volunteers still play a valuable role by organising games, activities and informal lessons.
