Program description: |

Living, working, earning and travelling in India is a dream of many young people. Now it is possible through India Teaching. We have established an ethical, educational programme that will allow gap-year students and fresh graduates to spend an academic year teaching in one of the elite boarding schools in the Nilgiris hill station area, south India.
- What's different about India Teaching?
Many gap year/fresh graduate overseas programmes are
little more than glorified and sometimes expensive holidays. You pay to go to some exotic location and undertake a task of limited social value for a short period.
India Teaching offers a position of responsibility to responsible people. We offer education in a safe environment as the link and bond between British and Indian students and the cultures and values they reflect. We provide a secure base for a life enhancing experience. Maturity, personal growth, increased confidence, self awareness and an enhanced knowledge of the world are expected benefits. The programme lasts up to an academic year and the limited numbers of teaching places are carefully controlled and monitored. We believe our ‘junior’ teachers are ambassadors of their country, family, schools, colleges and universities, and are expected to behave accordingly.
- What are the objectives of India Teaching?
Provide a safe and healthy living environment
Provide appropriate support both in the UK and in India
Provide ‘junior’ teaching opportunities in quality boarding schools
Expose students to the world of work and responsibility
Expose students to the rich culture and values of Indian society
Encourage students to discover and develop personal skills
Promote new experiences and the making of new friends
Help students be better prepared for higher education or employment on returning to the UK
