Program description: |
 |
|
Lattitude teaching placements can be a daunting prospect, especially if you have just left school yourself as you will find yourself suddenly in front of a class of students. A huge mass of screaming, shouting children are asking you questions about the Queen and David Beckham and whether you have a girlfriend/boyfriend. You then start wondering why you didn't just take the easy option and go straight to university or work. Then the class clown listens to you and repeats a perfect English sentence or the silent child who hasn't spoken all term suddenly puts his hand up and you realise why teaching English can be such a rewarding experience.
Our TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) placements are in a variety of institutions, including universities, primary and secondary schools, kindergartens, drop-in centres, monastery schools, orphanages and an English Teachers' Centre.

The benefits of taking a gap year with GAP Activity Projects is that you will not only develop your self but your work contribution is making a huge difference to the overseas hosts you work with.
In terms of self development, you may learn self confidence, independence and maturity as well as skills like team working, leadership and improve your languages.
A gap year is a once in a lifetime opportunity that not only gives you the experience of living and working overseas, but gives you a different perspective on the world, a chance to travel and also to broaden your horizons.
Lattitude also operates a Business Partnership Scheme, for UK and Irish volunteers, putting you in touch with leading graduate recruiters who value the skills you have gained on your gap year.
