Projects Abroad has expanded its placements in Shanghai to town a couple of hours West called Wu Jiang. A lack of quality English language text books and the fact that international & domestic travel is very difficult for the Chinese, means the chance to learn from a native English speaker is an exciting prospect. An enthusiastic foreign teacher is a welcome diversion from their usual timetable. Also keen to improve their spoken English are the teachers themselves, so be prepared to teach all who come to you!
Living and teaching in Wu Jiang will also give you the opportunity to experience real Chinese culture, live with a local family & discover more about this huge & ancient country. Excellently placed for a weekend trip to the picturesque town of Suzhou or to visit the bright lights of Shanghai, a placement in Wu Jiang is a great way to immerse yourself in the local culture and enjoy & learn more about China.
