Program description: |

|
Teach in China offers paid placements in a position teaching English in a Chinese school for either 1 or 2 semesters, or a short summer session. The majority of our positions are with Chinese universities or trade schools; some positions will allow participants to work with younger children. Placements are based on background, qualifications, and the availability of positions in China.

Participants will live in free accommodations provided by the school. All apartments are furnished, with a private bathroom and telephone. In most cases, participants will share the kitchen.
** Participants are not required to pay a housing deposit.

What are the dates of this program: The fall semester begins in September, and the spring semester begins in either late February or early March (depending on when the Chinese New Year falls). Summer sessions take place in July and August.

* Participants preferably have their teacher certification or previous teaching experience
** A Bachelor’s degree is helpful but not required for the summer program
** A Bachelor's degree is a requirement for the semester and year-long programs

Salary/pay/benefits description: |
|
|
Semester/ year-long positions:
Participants will be paid between $3000 - $5000 Renminbi (RMB), which is equivalent to approximately $372 – 620 USD per month. Participants will also receive free accommodations and, sometimes, partial board. Many schools help reimburse part of participants’ airline tickets at the end of their contracts (although we can not guarantee this in advance, as it varies per contract). All salary and benefits will be agreed upon in participants’ contracts prior to departure.
Summer-session positions:
Participants will receive free accommodations and, sometimes, a small salary.
** We can not guarantee salary for the summer positions, as it is much shorter in length and is not available in all contracts.
