Earn a Preliminary Certificate in English Language Teaching in beautiful York, England. This course is particularly designed for native and near-native speakers of English. To be eligible, you must be a minimum of age 20 with a good academic background (college, University) and a high level of spoken and written English (equivalent to University level, CAE, CPE, IELTS 6.5 or TOEFL 600).
Location
The course takes place in the beautiful medieval city of York in the north of England with easy access from London by train. York is a top tourist attraction for visitors from all over the world. It has a magnificent cathedral, museums, art galleries, cinemas, theatres, shops, cafés, restaurants and a superb riverside location.

Course Information
The course director is a fully qualified English language professional with a wide experience of training in schools, companies and organisations both in the UK and worldwide. Group sizes are small (5-12 participants). This allows each participant maximum support and attention from the tutor. It also helps create a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. The training centre is situated close to the city centre and includes a fully equipped classroom, use of audio-visual aids, computer and internet access, teaching materials and resources.
Course Description
This is a 60-hour course spread over 2 weeks, Monday – Friday. In the morning, there are input sessions on the skills and methods of teaching. The afternoon consists of teaching practice (peer teaching), lesson observation and lesson preparation.
Course Certificate
Assessment is continuous and is based on the participant’s work throughout the course and teaching practice sessions. At the end of the course, successful participants receive a Eurolingua Preliminary Certificate in English Language Teaching which shows the total number of hours and outlines the course content.

Social Activities and Excursions
There is a vibrant night-life in York and we regularly arrange social evenings in a restaurant, bar, cinema, theatre etc. After the hard work of the week you may want to spend a day exploring York or the surrounding area. We offer an optional Saturday excursion to a place of interest. Details will be given at the start of the course.
