Peak Leaders is an international training company and well established family business specializing in ski and snowboard instructor courses and adventure activities.
Peak Leaders is running this 8 week course in conjunction with NZSKI. You are based in Queenstown which is the adventure capital of the world and home of the famous Shotover River jet, bungee jumping and white water rafting. Technical training is at Coronet Peak with the highest quality coaches who train you 5 days a week then take you for back country and advanced training at The Remarkables. Weekend sessions include shadowing in the Snowsports School. Trainees are coached to take the new NZSIA accredited Snowsports’ Certificate followed by the Stage One Instructor Course. Other modules include; avalanche awareness training, team leading training, park and pipe skills, risk assessment, ski patrol introduction and a ski / board maintenance clinic. This is a dynamic and high tempo training programme during which technique and mountain knowledge is improved beyond recognition. Applicants should be good intermediate skiers or riders (or better) before applying. Trainees stay at the 3 star Coronet Alpine Hotel. Half board included.
On completion of the course, there is a fantastic, optional 14 day ‘Australia Adventure Module’ with swimming and snorkelling off the Great Barrier Reef and a visit to the Outback.
You have a highly qualified, Peaks' mentor on site with you throughout - their job is to ensure that you get the most from your course through regular meetings with you and your local providers and instructors. Whatever your reasons for coming away with Peak Leaders, be assured that by the end of the course your ski / riding will have improved beyond expectation and you'll have many new skills gained with people who'll become friends for life.
