LIA has both professional and recreational scuba diving internships for the adventurous divers or non-divers in Thailand. We have found that some wish to learn to the highest possible recreational level of diver being the MSD or Master Scuba Diver. This is superb for those that wish to use their skills to enjoy diving as a recreation or possibly utilize diving in a research or conservation capacity.
The professional programs offered are the most comprehensive Divemaster and Instructor internships available on the market due to internationally recognised scuba courses that we are unique to offer in Thailand and most of Asia. These courses are such as the ASSET (Association of Scuba Service Engineers & Technicians), The PADI FFM (Full-Face Mask) diver-diver and diver-surface communications course with the PSAI Self-sufficiency courses (formerly the Solo Divers course).
Focusing mainly on scuba internships we have built excellent connections for accommodation (private condos), facilities and dedicated intern training staff. At any one time we have interns all at different stages and this creates a great sense of community. Although most of our interns come to us as lone travellers they find that they are never alone unless at times when they wish to be. An active dive job placement service is offered to interns on completion of their professional diving program. With some self help and assistance on our part there is a very high possibility of scuba diving employment in Thailand or other Asian countries (All certifications are internationally recognised). We have interns working in the scuba diving industry in Australia, Vietnam, Thailand, Philippines, Indonesia, Honduras, Greece, Croatia, Mexico, the Cook Islands, Cambodia, UK, Germany, USA, Crete, South Africa and Tunisia.
Mermaids have as much fun in as out of the water with activities of training and recreation occuring continuously.

As an instructor in this (we are 1 of ONLY 2 facilities in Thailand to offer this) - you will be highly employable. You are now taking a new skill to a potential dive employer and hence a new program and course that their dive facility can offer to the customers. This will make you (along with our other unique dive courses) stand out from the crowd and a "normal" PADI scuba diving instructor.
As Thailand becomes increasingly diasbility friendly with additional facilities and wheel chair ramps - so we should become more accommodating as dive instructors also. This will NOT ONLY make you massively employable, unique as an instructor but also allow you to share the joy of diving with a wider audience.
