Program description: |
|
|
Bolivian women are often underprivileged and sometimes denied basic human rights. This ingenious project run by a local, non-governmental organisation, furnishes communities of female artisans with skills to make the most of their talent for knitting woollen garments. They are trained to read patterns so they can make profitable items and even sell them abroad. You could help with quality control, marketing and accounting techniques and make occasional visits to the more remote artisan communities. Help is also needed looking after the artists' children and grandchildren while they work.
