Peak Leaders is an international training company and well established family business specializing in ski and snowboard instructor courses and adventure activities.
Designed to find you work on qualifying: If you’re thinking of spending your gap year qualifying and working as a ski instructor, the latest Peak Leaders development with ‘European Snowsport’ (ES) of Verbier, is for you.
For 11 weeks ES train you to become a ski instructor then employ you as an instructor. On completion of the course you will get approximately two months paid work experience in a leading Alpine school. What makes this course unusual is, first, it is endorsed by BASI specifically with the aim of providing a pool of BASI instructors for employment in Switzerland with English speaking clients and second, you can work to offset some of the costs of your BASI course. Julian Griffiths head of the ski school says, ‘Trainees will start in early December, finish at the end of the season and, if up to standard, be offered guaranteed employment.’ You’ll be part of the ski school and could ultimately be in an excellent position to fulfil your dream of becoming a ski instructor. Applicants must be dedicated, strong skiers who wish to excel in their chosen sport whilst working and learning in an established ski school. This course has restricted numbers and applicants will be pre - selected by the head of the ski school.
You have a highly qualified, Peaks' mentor on site with you throughout - their job is to ensure that you get the most from your course through regular meetings with you and your local providers and instructors. Whatever your reasons for coming away with Peak Leaders, be assured that by the end of the course your ski / riding will have improved beyond expectation and you'll have many new skills gained with people who'll become friends for life.
