|
This placement is a great balance of learning yourself and facilitating the learning of others. Spending time at workshops run by local artists allows for a deep cultural understanding by learning techniques in wood carving, pottery and batik printing, amongst others.
Running art clubs with school children will see you pass on your own creative flair to give budding artists the chance to develop their own skills and forms of expression.
Art has always been an important part of West African life, both as a decorative and a communicative medium. Although Ghana is blessed with a number of talented artists, artistic development is often restricted by a narrow school curriculum and limited resources.
You will also enjoy getting involved with our Volunteer sports teams where you may even have the opportunity to play against local teams in Ghana!
