Teach English, volunteer in an orphanage, help out at summer camp, or work in a greenhouse with uunderprivileged children. Mongolia remains one of the last nomadic cultures still in existence. Opportunities to volunteer will offer you an enriching experience while serving a necessity to the people you are helping. Gain a greater understanding about this country by joining the Language and Cultural Program for two weeks before or after your volunteering program.
TEACHING ENGLISH IN MONGOLIA:
For years the Soviet Union's political domination of Mongolia did not allow for students of this country to learn the English language. Therefore, most Mongolian students have never encountered English. But, like in other developing countries, knowing English can provide opportunities that students never knew existed and offer easier advancement in many facets of life.
Our Teaching English in Mongolia project aims to create opportunities for needy Mongolian students to learn the beauty of the English language from native speakers or volunteers who are fluent in English. All volunteers will work in Language Elementary Schools, Language Centers, Colleges and summer camps. All these volunteer projects are located in the capital city of Mongolia. Age of the students vary based on the particular project.
ORPHANAGE WORK:
Orphanage Work Mongolia gives volunteers opportunities to help children who grew up in the streets of Mongolia, orphans, and youths who live under extreme poverty. This well-structured project attempts to create an atmosphere where orphaned children can think of learning as a fun experience. The orphanage work project is highly challenging and rewarding, as you will be changing the lives of children who rarely receive opportunities to interact with other people. By sharing love and care for innocent, troubled, and forgotten children, you are offering the best gift of your life. Working with orphaned children demands lots of patience, as these children's harsh, past lives often exile them from society.
The volunteers will help to the children at the orphanage as following:
Promote prevention of the causes of child disabilities to ensure the right of children to healthy lives.
Provide educational, training, and rehabilitation services.
Provide life skill lessons for the children
Help to cook
Most of the time, the orphaned children become even more secluded and troubled because other children tease and bully them. This volunteer project is difficult because most of these kids are unmotivated learners who believe that education is simply not for them.
As a Mongolia volunteer, you will make a real difference in orphans' lives by involving children in many activities that they would normally not participate in. Works include simple English lessons, other subject teaching, painting, singing, and helping the staff to maintain proper discipline, organizing games, and other similar help as requested by the orphanage staff. As a volunteer, you will provide a positive introduction into a child's need for education in hopes that this would lead to a lifelong interest in learning. The volunteers are stationed to work in city and sub- urban orphanages of Ulaanbaatar city.
SUMMER ENGLISH CAMP:
Summer Camp takes you to a land of wondrous natural scenery, a long, established history, and a charming, brilliant culture. Here, this volunteer program offers you an unlimited chance to explore many historic sites, including the Gandan Monastery, and the Winter Palace of Bogd Khaan Museum, Fine Art Museum of Zanabazar, and The Museum of Natural History. Also volunteers can visit the opening ceremony

A land that seems forgotten by time, Mongolia remains one of the last nomadic cultures still in existence in the world. Indeed, when you step inside the city, Ulaanbaatar, you will believe that you have traveled into a new century rather than into a new country. In this strange, antiquated land, the air still blows with the legacy of an untamable and exotic Mongolian world - from memories of the warlord Genghis Khan to camels wandering in the Gobi Desert and wild horses galloping across the steppes. With such an unusual atmosphere, Mongolia is one of the last great adventure destinations in Asia. In the Mongolia program, through spontaneous encounters with nomadic families of an otherworldly land, you will experience the warm hospitality offered to travelers. In order to witness this graciousness, the volunteer in Mongolia program invites volunteers to discover the amazing natural and cultural wonders of Mongolia. As a Mongolia volunteer, you will receive a once in a lifetime opportunity to see one of the most fascinating and mysterious lands in existence. You will have an opportunity to support needy orphans and other people who need your help while experiencing this wondrous world. Inaccessible to the Western world until only recently, Mongolia has opened its doors to offer a rare glimpse into an ancient society untouched by time - with its original glory intact.
