Program description: |

|
You will be coaching local communities in the vibrant capital city, San José. Here you will become a coach and friend to aspiring footballers, mostly aged between 8-12.
Many families can not afford to pay Saturday football schools. Therefore the football sessions our volunteers run are the only opportunity these children have to access organised training. Your focus will be having fun with these kids. Most come from poor backgrounds, which means that what you bring to them in friendship, coaching and life advice will impact on them and their community in a way you will always remember – and so will they!
Our volunteers organise very exciting tournaments which you will become invoved with. You will find that football (among other sports) is often neglected in schools and that you really can make a big impact with a bit of dedication and enthusiasm.
We work with Schools, Clubs and Community Groups of all sorts in Costa Rica. Whatever your background or skill-level, be assured that you have something positive and unique to offer the children and projects you work on.
You will also have the unique opportunity to play the game in Costa Rica with Volunteers and local teams. Your spare time is also a great opportunity to explore the beauty and diversity of Costa Rica, making this placement a must for all enjoy football and want to travel!
