Program description: |
 |
|
GAP's school projects differ from our teaching placements in that you will not be responsible for English classes on your own - your main role will be to assist with teaching in core subjects like maths, French, music and science and helping with extra curricular activities. There may be some other responsibilities - such as boarding house supervision, sports coaching, clerical administration, group remedial work and helping on school camps. The great thing about a schools placement is that you can really concentrate on whatever interests you - looking after the young boarders when they get homesick, setting up a cricket club or putting on an art exhibition.
Use your ability and enthusiasm and you can enrich children's lives dramatically.

Benefits and advantages of the program: |

The benefits of taking a gap year with GAP Activity Projects is that you will not only develop your self but your work contribution is making a huge difference to the overseas hosts you work with.
In terms of self development, you may learn self confidence, independence and maturity as well as skills like team working, leadership and improve your languages.
A gap year is a once in a lifetime opportunity that not only gives you the experience of living and working overseas, but gives you a different perspective on the world, a chance to travel and also to broaden your horizons.
GAP also operates a Business Partnership Scheme, for UK and Irish volunteers, putting you in touch with leading graduate recruiters who value the skills you have gained on your gap year.
