|
Cambodia's tourist and trade industries are growing rapidly and creating many new jobs. The best new jobs require knowledge of English, but teachers qualified to teach English in Cambodia are scarce. Volunteers can work with a primary school, secondary school, or adult education program. Volunteers will plan and teach English conversation classes and are invited to help with other subjects as well as extra curricular activities.

|
Cambodia is one of Asia's most mysterious countries. Visitors can see evidence of the soaring accomplishments of ancient civilizations alongside the darkest depths of human cruelty. Most Cambodians consider themselves to be Khmer, descended from the great civilization which reached its peak from the 10th to the 13th centuries and built the famous Angkor Wat Temple, one of the world's most famous Architectural marvels. Volunteers stay with local host families and are warmly welcomed to participate in the day to day life of their family and the children at the centers. Volunteers will work Monday through Friday, leaving weekends free to explore Cambodia's wonders including the legendary Angkor Wat, Sambor, and pristine beaches.

There is no typical ELI volunteer. We work with people from all over the world and a variety of backgrounds. ELI has placed volunteers ranging in age from 18-81. Successful volunteers are flexible, upbeat, energetic, and inquisitive.
