Cross-Cultural Solutions operates in Rabat, the capital city of Morocco and home to King Mohammed. Located on a cliff overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, Rabat is a beautiful, cosmopolitan city that many consider an archeological Mecca. The modern businesses and buildings contrast against many ancient sites, including intricately designed mosques and towers. The City of Rabat, the fourth of the imperial cities reflects the continuing vitality of old customs dating back to the 12th century. This ancient city became refuge for many of the Muslims driven out of Andalucia during the Spanish Inquisition in the 1600s.
In Rabat you will see many colourful markets selling fresh food, artisan markets selling arts and crafts (and the well-known Moroccan hand-woven carpets), and plenty of European style cafes to sit and drink tea while watching the city go by.
Volunteers in Morocco may be involved with caring for infants and children, teaching children, teaching English, assisting teachers, working towards women's empowerment, sharing their professional skills/experience, observing and assisting local health professionals, and assisting teachers of special education.

|
|
Programme fees vary depending on the length of your stay. The programme fee for a 2-week programme is £1,422. Each additional week is £155. This programme fee covers the costs of lodging, meals and ground transportation, plus individual attention and guidance from an experienced and knowledgeable Programme Manager, coordination of your Volunteer Placement, Perspectives Programming activities, a 24-hour emergency hotline in the US, travel and medical insurance, and much more.
