|
Calling all animal lovers: Phuket's Dog Rescue Centre needs your help. . The animals are well looked after but your help is needed with the day-to-day care of the dogs and to assist with fundraising so as to keep the Dog Rescue Centre fully active.
In the centre volunteers clean water bowls & pens; refill water bowls; maintain the pens when they become run down, (don’t worry: only very basic DIY skills are required!); bathe and de-tick the dogs; administer medication and vaccinations and take them to the vet when required.
Besides helping ensure the dogs are healthy and their environment hygienic, volunteers also spend time playing with the dogs, taking them for walks and teaching them basic pet training. A dog which is able to understand simple commands is more easily adopted.
Along with the day to day care of the animals there is a great need for a concerted fundraising effort to keep the Dog Rescue Centre financially secure. Volunteers will work in the centre’s shop from time to time, which is the main source of income for the centre, as well as help plan and carry out further fundraising schemes.
