|
The programme in India is fairly varied from a project bringing AIDS awareness, adolescent behaviour and self-help workshops to women in rural india to teaching in primary and secondary schools. All of the projects have a close link with a large local charity, and provide an absorbing insight into grassroots development work.

What are the dates of this program: Volunteers will leave for India at the end of August or the beginning of September. They will return to the UK 12 months later around the 25th August.

Benefits and advantages of the program: |

All volunteers attend a selection course, a training course and after their twelve months away on return to the UK, a debriefing course all on the Isle of Coll. Project Trust is a small charity sending roughly 200 volunteers to around 25 different countries around the world. over the last 36 years we have sent over 4,000 volunteers to over 50 countries, as one of the oldest gap year charities we have a wealth of experience to draw from. Project Trust prides itself on the large backup support network it has both in the UK and throughout the world.

This programme costs £3,950 and we expect volunteers to fundraise this during the year before they go overseas.

volunteers need to be very patient and responsible, they must have a desire to see India through the eyes of the people who live their by intgrating into their local community.

Volunteers must have recently left school and be between the ages of 17 - 19.
