|
Starfish Ventures, a volunteer organisation based in Thailand has collaborated with a Thai government organisation because they need assistance rehabilitating these animals and are now looking for volunteers to help prepare for their future release.
Volunteers will learn about these creatures and spend much of their time in the forest helping release the family. The release is scheduled over a number of weeks to help the monkeys acclimatise to their new surroundings and to monitor their safety.

Benefits and advantages of the program: |

The animals, which are rescued from illegal tourist practices and from owners who cannot look after them adequately, cannot be released back into the wild until they have found a mate and started their own family. Two young are required by the couple before being released so the whole process can take up to ten years.
