City/State: Praia do Forte, Bahia Country: BRAZIL Humpback Whale Conservation in Brazil REQUEST MORE INFORMATION »» Global Vision International 3 High Street St Albans Herts UNITED KINGDOM AL3 4ED Phone: 01727 250 250 www.gvi.co.uk Program description: Based in the beautiful area of Praia do Forte in Brazil, this project gives volunteers an opportunity to get involved in the long term conservation of the humpback whales.  With the option to join for 2 or 3 weeks, you will spend much of your time out on the sea (weather permitting) where you will be observing whales, collecting data on their behaviour, bio-acoustic monitoring and developing the picture identification library.  Volunteers also assist in the fields of environmental education and office based administrative tasks, including the entering of new data. Languages required besides English: Portuguese Qualifications required: No special skills are required but volunteers must be interested in cetaceans and environmental / marine conservation.  Volunteers must be reasonably fit and be able to work as a team.  Biology background, some Spanish / Portuguese and boat experience would all be a bonus.
