Program description: |

VolunteerAfrica is an International 'not for profit' organisation that is run by a team of volunteers spread around the world. Volunteer Africa has been established to give people from around the world the opportunity to work on community initiated projects in developing countries. In return for hosting these international volunteers the host organisation will receive donations from the volunteers.
Once in Tanzania you will be provided with a four day course introducing you to the language and culture of Tanzania. At the end of the course you will travel with your fellow volunteers to Singida Town and then on to the villages. Once in the villages you will live with up to ten other volunteers in a camp using equipment that we provide. As a group you will prepare your own meals, using food purchased on a weekly basis in Singida Town. In addition to working with the villagers on the projects you will have plenty of time to get involved in village life.
Projects vary from village to village but usually involve assisting in the construction new village schools and health centres (see the web-site for more details).
All programmes start in Dar es Salaam at 8am on Monday morning. All volunteers are met on arrival at Dar es Salaam airport by our local representative.
Tanzania is a large country with lots of things in it to explore once you have finished you time in Singida. VolunteerAfrica strongly recommends that volunteers on the 4 week programme allow at least 1 extra week for traveling, whilst volunteers on the longer programmes allow at least 2 extra weeks.
