Located in East Africa, Uganda is bordered by Kenya to the east and Tanzania to the south. The southern portion of Uganda , where Global Crossroad's projects are located, covers a significant portion of beautiful Lake Victoria – speckled with numerous islands. With a diverse environment resulting in the meeting of the East African savannah meeting the West African jungle, a cornucopia of wildlife – lions, chimpanzees, hippos, crocodiles, gorillas and thousands of bird species – await outdoor and animal enthusiasts.
Global Crossroad's volunteer programs in Uganda offer participants a wide range of opportunities to explore some of Uganda's most appealing attractions – all while helping the citizens of Uganda as well as the children who have been orphaned by parents who have died of AIDS and helping them look toward a brighter future.
