Program description:

The majority of projects are around the capital Santiago,where volunteers teach English in large secondary schools. All these schools are in poorer areas of the capital so the people our volunteers work with really need help and support. This is the ideal oppurtunity to improve your Spanish and discover one of the most diverse countries in the world.

What are the dates of this program: Volunteers leave for Chile at the end of August or the beginning of September, they return to the UK 12 months later around the 25th August.

Benefits and advantages of the program:

All our volunteers go up to the Isle of Coll for a selection course, a training course and when they return from their twelve months overseas, a debriefing course. Project Trust is a small charity with around 220 volunteers overeas this year, this means we get to know each of our volunteers individually. We have sent over 4, 000 volunteers overseas in the last 36 years and as one of the oldest year out companies we have a wealth of experience i nthis field. All our volunteers are fully supported with a large backup network both in this country and abroad.

Cost or price of this program:

The cost of the programme is £3,950. We expect our volunteers to fund raise this money in the year before they go overseas.

Typical person for this program:

A typical volutneer can speak some Spanish and have an interest in learning about a diverse and stunning country. Enthusiasm and determination are essential as the work is changeable and most suited to individuals who will have the dynamism to adapt their specific skills and interests to a flexible programme.

All our volunteers are between 17 - 19 years old and have just left school.
